One man is recovering, and another arrested after a stabbing incident near the Town of Nokomis.
Early Sunday morning the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office reported to a stabbing near Nokomis Park.
The 911 call was from a male stating he was not from around here, his girlfriend was intoxicated, and he wanted to go home. The call was disconnected and upon calling back the caller stated that there were about 10 guys coming to fight him.
Another call came from the same area with a male stating that his friend was stabbed twice in the side with a three inch blade.
When deputy’s arrived they discovered that the original caller, Robert H. Williams 34, of Panama City, Fla., was involved in an altercation with Andrew W. Wickland 28, of Tomahawk. During this altercation Williams stabbed Wickland numerous times.
Wickland was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital. Williams was taken to the Oneida County Jail after being medically cleared at St. Mary’s Hospital. Charges of reckless endangering safety, aggravated battery and criminal damaging property will be referred to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office.
