Ending a relationship that lasted barely six months, the Langlade County Board of Supervisors  and County Manager Dennis Clark officially “agreed upon separation.”

The matter was attended to in closed session following the board’s declaration of a state of emergency due to the flooding and high water conditions.

The board designated County Clerk Judy Nagel as the interim county manager/administrative coordinator.

County Corporation Counsel Robin Stowe said that while the agreement ends Clark’s brief tenure, the position remains a priority for the board.

“The County Board remains committed to employing a full-time county manager and will be moving forward to refill this vacant position,” Stowe said.

Clark was officially appointed Langlade County’s first manager in a 21-0 vote at the January board meeting. He came to the position after stints as the deputy director of public works and the parks general manager for Walworth County, and as operations manager and then director of public works for the city of Ashland.
