Lee Dinsmore

Lee Dinsmore, who turns 105 on Saturday, will celebrate with family and friends today. He spent many of his working years with the YMCA and the U.S. State Department, stationed mostly in the Middle East. He also spent time in Washington, D.C., before making his home in Langlade County.

Lee Dinsmore will celebrate his birthday today with party with family members. His birthday is actually Saturday, but when you turn 105, you’re allowed to do that.

Dinsmore, who lives at Rosalie Gardens in Antigo, was born June 19, 1916, in Barron, the son of Captain “Cap” Howe Dinsmore, a Baptist preacher, and Helen Bastian, a native of Rhinelander. At the time, the United States had not even entered World War I.
