Crash victim identified

Law enforcement officials said Curtis Crawford of Wausau died in a two-car crash Monday west of Antigo.

The Langlade County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim in a two-car fatal crash west of Antigo on Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Mark Westen said Curtis Crawford, 41, of Wausau, died at Aspirus Langlade Hospital after being taken there by ambulance.

Langlade County Emergency Dispatch received a call reporting a two vehicle accident on Highway HH south of Highway 64 at 1:16 p.m. Deputies responded along with city of Antigo officers and personnel from Rural Fire Control and Antigo Fire Department.

A preliminary investigation indicated that one vehicle crossed the center line and struck the second vehicle.

Two occupants of the second vehicle were treated and released at the accident scene. Wisconsin State Patrol (WSP) was requested to assist and provided an accident reconstruction specialist.

Westen did not release the names of the people in the second vehicle.

“The accident reconstruction specialist from WSP needs time to process his information, and our deputies are still investigating the accident,” the sheriff said.
