The United Way of Langlade County recently awarded requested funds to the Northwoods Face Mask Warriors, a statewide initiative involving well over 3,000 crafters working together to provide masks for those on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additional area businesses are eligible to apply for mask assistance and are accommodated based on the urgency of their need.

The Northwoods zone includes Langlade, Lincoln, Forest and Oneida Counties, and is based in Rhinelander.

The United Way of Langlade County launched a COVID-19 relief fund in March to support the agencies that are experiencing additional stress due to the pandemic.  The relief fund is in addition to the annual United Way campaign that runs from October to January each year.

The funds raised from the relief fund are specifically designated to support local agencies in need of added financial support during the pandemic.
