David Bibeau

 David Joseph Bibeau, 83, passed away on August 14, 2020. He was born on March 9, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Nazaire and Dolores (Croes) Bibeau. 

He attended grade school at St. Peter Catholic School in North St. Paul, Minn. While Dave was a freshman in high school, his family moved from North St. Paul to a farm in Stanton Township outside of New Richmond.

Dave graduated from New Richmond High School in 1956 and attended the Wisconsin State College at River Falls for 1.5 years. 

David married Beverly Grant on May 11, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spring Valley. Four children were born of this union: Michael, Patricia, Scott and Timothy, while they lived in Roberts. They also lived in River Falls, Verona, and Antigo, before retiring to New Richmond.

Dave served in the National Guard for eight years as a medic. He worked at Holy Family Hospital, Farmers Union, and Donaldson Mfg., then became the Assessor and Building Inspector in the City of River Falls. He later moved on to be the Building Inspector in Verona, before finishing his career as a Commercial Building Inspector with the State of Wisconsin. 

Dave was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus in the 3rd and 4th degree with 30 years of service. In retirement, Dave enjoyed participating in events at the New Richmond Senior Center, reading, and collecting toy tractors and train memorabilia.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Nazaire “Ned” and Dolores; sister, Barb Saiko; brother-in-law, Bob Haupt; grandson, Daren Bibeau; father-in-law Bernard Grant; and brother-in-law, Mark Grant. He is survived by his wife, Bev; children, Mike (Betty), Patti (Rick) LaPorte, Scott (Jean), and Tim (Catherine); grandchildren, Emma, Kelly, Keely, Cora, Abbi, Gabi, Cody, and Brady; great grandchild, Leo; siblings, Rita (Owen), Bill (Nancy), Tom (Cathy), Mary (Joe) Miller, and Bernie (Frank) Ineichen; brother-in-law, Jack Saiko; mother-in-law, Ioliene Grant; sisters-in-law, Judith Grant-Wilson and Mary (Chuck) Woiwode; brothers-in-law, BJ (Barb) Grant, Jim Grant and Barry (Pam) Grant, and his Godchild, Brent Haupt. Dave will be missed by his family and many other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond. 

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. for one hour prior to Mass at the church. Private family burial will take place after the funeral. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Arrangements by Cullen Crea Funeral Home.
