Jerry Steber

Jerry Michel Steber of Elcho passed away on Jan. 5, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital at the age of 67 years. He was born Dec. 21, 1953, to the late Donald Steber and Joy (Reif) Steber of Antigo. She survives.

Jerry had a great love for his family and friends and would help anyone that needed him. He loved family gatherings, especially with the grandchildren, and was famous for his fried chicken dinners.

Jerry was employed as a Heliarc welder by Northstar Fabrication for over 30 years, until his retirement.

Jerry enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers and playing his guitar.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Kristina Steber of Tomahawk and Kevin Iron Mountain, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Evan Vanroy and Lauren Steber. He has five brothers, John (Jan) Steber of Watertown, Jeff (Judy) Steber of Antigo, David Steber of Antigo, Patrick (Shelley) Steber of Pierre, S.D., and Michael Steber of Antigo; and three sisters, Sharon (Mark) Jennings of Hamilton, Mont., Gayle Steber of Antigo and Ann (Gary) Mroczenski of Wausau. He has 18 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of life for Jerry will be planned at a later date.
