Michael Lee MacDonald, age 50, of Antigo, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital following a courageous battle against cancer.
Mike was born on July 24, 1970, in Antigo to James and Lois (Banczak) MacDonald.
Mike attended St. Hyacinth’s Catholic School and graduated from Antigo High School in 1988.
He was employed in the field of drafting and design for SNE and Wynn O. Jones. He was instrumental in the designing of many of the cabinets in the Antigo High School.
Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a wonderful son, caring for his parents, doing lawn care, snow removal and gardening. Mike loved being an uncle and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, Lois and James of Antigo, Mike is survived by nine siblings, Jean (Tom) Koppa of Sun Prairie, Jim (Carla) MacDonald of Wausau, Julie (John) Zollpriester of Gleason, Laurie (Scott) Marshall of Charlotte, Mich., Melanie (Mark) Rinehart of Crandon, Patti (Todd) Lucht of Antigo, Robert (Beth) MacDonald of Aniwa, Susan Raab (Shawn Perrot) of Antigo and Amy (Josiah) Johnson of Aniwa; aunts and uncles, George MacDonald, Maxine MacDonald, and Jerry and Bernice Banczak; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by a nephew, Kyle Lucht; maternal grandparents, Mildred and Albert Banczak; paternal grandparents, Opal and James MacDonald; and aunts and uncle, Judy MacDonald, and Betty and Doug Holmberg.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home for a time of remembering and sharing.
