An Antigo graduate has emerged as one of the leading hitters for the Aurora University baseball team, a Division III squad located in Aurora, Ill.
Collin Meinert, a six-foot junior infielder from Deerbrook, is currently third on the team in hitting with a .369 average through 17 games.
In 65 at-bats, he has 24 hits, one home run, has driven in 17 runs and scored 21 times.
In a doubleheader against Marian University of Fond du Lac on Saturday, Meinert was the leading hitter in a 3-1 win in game one, before delivering 2 RBIs in a 5-3 win in the nightcap to complete the twin bill sweep.
Aurora is a member of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), where they compete in the North Division.
