Rutger Busse continued his consistent season on the cross country course Tuesday, leading the Antigo Middle School boys team with a seventh place finish at the Northland Pines Invite.

Busse ran the course in a time of 13:17.5, with Ethan Potrykus of Three Lakes taking first, ending in 12:04.6.

Antigo’s next best finisher on the boys side was Case Meister in 12th place. Gabriel Marquez took 29th, Braddock Spencer was 30th, with a quartet of pack runners next.

Taking 34th-through-37th place respectively, was Antigo’s Blake Genske, Kaden Schroepfer, Landon Higgins and Peyton Higgins.

The Robins finished sixth as a team, with Three Lakes taking first. Rhinelander was second, followed by Hurley, Crandon and Prairie River Middle School of Merrill.

Rhinelander took first place for the girls, with Prairie River second, Crandon third, Hurley fourth and Northland Pines fifth.

Antigo had three runners on the course, with Virginia Praslowicz cracking the top ten by placing ninth, Juanita Marie Diese was 14th and Zoe Edwards ended in 47th.

Next up for the Middle School harriers was their annual home meet, set for Thursday at Antigo High School.
