The season came to a close for the KerberRose Babe Ruth baseball team Monday in Mosinee, falling in the Central Wisconsin League playoffs, 3-1.
The loss came despite a more than solid pitching performance by Devin Pool, who worked five innings for KerberRose, allowing two earned runs, walking two and striking out six Mosinee batters.
Alec Knapkavage pitched the final frame, he was not charged with an earned run, while walking a pair and striking out one.
At the plate KerberRose was held to three hits. That included Luke Bastle with a double, a run-scoring single from Michael Hagerty and a single from Simon Beck.
“Probably one of the best Babe Ruth games I’ve seen,” head coach Dan Bastle said. “We just didn’t hit. It was a great season and we definitely grew as it went on.”
Mosinee now advances to the semifinals of the league tournament.
